One more week until graduation!

So last night was Olivia's last puppy class before graduation next week! I'm such a proud mommy! These past five weeks have gone by so fast and I feel like Olivia has really made progress. She was so shy when it started and now she loves another puppy she was once afraid of. She has really come out of her shell in social situations with other dogs. I was so pleased last night when her trainer looked at me and said that Olivia is the smartes Boston Terrier she's ever worked with and that Olivia must have very good blood lines. What a compliment! This week we learned "stay" and "shake (hands)". Olivia picked it up soooo quickly!

Look at these silly puppies playing! (Olivia and

Throw Back Thursday

This is from the day we brought Olivia home. She was 7 weeks old and the cutest little "guinea pig" I'd ever seen. What a little puppy face she had then! Now she looks like a big girl :)

Field Trip!

So I was inspired by my fellow pet bloggers in the Blog Paws community to take Olivia on a field trip to our local park. All the other pet bloggers seem to take their dogs on outings and hikes and Olivia stays home and plays in the yard or goes to puppy class at Petsmart. So I planned yesterday to take her for a walk this morning before it got too hot (you know how those smushy faces get HOT).

here we are!

We actually saw one of the pet parents from Olivia's class (without her dog, a beautiful female Standard Poodle named Onyx) so that was fun to see a familiar face. I was really impressed with the park (I'd never been before), it was clean, there were poop bag dispensers and notices to clean up after your dogs, and even the water fountains had a dog height waterer (not that Olivia used it, I brought along her Popware for Pets collapsible bowl).

poop bags! get your poop bags!

We ended up walking two miles, good practice for the one mile SPCA fundraiser walk we're doing in about a week and a half. Olivia had so much fun smelling the new smells and seeing new sights. It was also really good real life experience for practicing her "Leave it!" and "Drop it!" commands. Also, I was proud of her for not mauling (with puppy kisses and toe nails) the little boy and his mom who asked if they could pet her. I swear, Olivia has never met a stranger! lol

Lost Tooth

So today I opened Olivia's mouth (much to her chagrin) for the first time since she was at the vet for her rabies like 2.5 weeks ago and guess what!! Olivia lost a tooth! Such a big girl now!

Feels Like Fall.. Almost

This morning it was so nice out, not humid or hot like it has been. I feel like fall could be around the corner. I love the fall, sweaters and boots are my favorite and I can't wait to put Olivia in sweaters too! This morning Olivia and I went out to the communal horse riding area in our horse friendly neighborhood to watch my trainer give my neighbor a riding lesson. It was felt amazing to be outside and not be sweating. Olivia seemed so happy to not be panting profusely and was enjoying watching the horses go past the golf cart (where we were sitting) and chewing on a stick.

Today the Bird Cage, Tomorrow the World!

So my big fluffy cat, Harley, (Olivia's big "Sissy") has always liked to sit on the bottom self of the bird cage (my dad's parrot, Bacchus) and Olivia has enviously tried to get up there since seeing Harley do it, she was not, however, able to until this week. So here she is (you can even see Bacchus)!
