At Petco over the the weekend I was highly amused when I realized they had his and hers grooming products for dogs. Obviously they weren't labeled for male or female use only but the packaging spoke volumes, especially since they were on the shelf next to each other. I must admit I have previously purchased the doggie face wipes in the girl specific looking container, and they smell awesome. The boy-looking products even had a hair gel, and I tried to convince Brian he should try it himself as he wanted a new gel but he wasn't moved by my argument.

I guess the thing that interested me the most is these products could be used on any dog, and gender. The companies are really targeting the owners, and I know I'd totally buy the STUD line if I had a male dog, so clearly these brands know what their doing.
Thoughtless Thursday
My oh my - what does this say about humans :-)
ReplyDeleteBlimey, that's all a bit swish!
ReplyDeleteOh but I think it's kind of cute! And of course it can be used on either, but if you think about it, we humans have body wash for her, and body wash for him etc....but there is also a happy medium or unscented we could buy and share. Instead we want our own feminine scents, and men want masculine scents. So why shouldn't it be the same for dogs? haha! BOL Ok, so now that I am done rambling on, thanks for linking up with us!
ReplyDeleteღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Ha, that is pretty silly! Guess those girls just have to smell girly :-)
ReplyDeleteOh wait a minute...I have viva la spa at home. Is that for HER? I like smelling like powder though. Well..maybe my sapiens appreciate that more. I never hard of the masculine shampoo. Will have to look into it!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thoughtless Thursday!
Marketing has moved from manscaping to dogscaping! That's pretty funny though. I think all that Cooper the Cattledog wants is something that doesn't make his skin itch... ;) Happy Thoughtless Thursday, and thank you so much for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of dog owners have a preference for boys or girls. I have four boys and one girl and tend to be more of a boy dog person. I am a sucker for anything girly for the girl and I don't want too girly things for th eboys. It drove me nuts when my husbands aunt had her boy dog in a pink harness. Definitely human driver need though

I do think those products are something I would like. I am a girl-dog :-) Have a great day.
